Jumia Partners NBS TV’s Another Round

Jumia, the leading online shop in Uganda has partnered with NBS TV’s Another Round to unveil exclusive offers during the show.

As part of the company’s Valentine’s promotion, this week, Jumia will disclose a voucher code that awards customers a 20% discount on any item on www.jumia.ug or through the free Jumia app. The voucher code is redeemable during this week’s episode of Another Round, which airs at 10.30pm on Wednesdays.

Victoria University Releases Anthem

First rising privately owned university, Victoria University (VU), recently launched an anthem at national theater in Kampala. The song which was composed by Diplock Segawa and VU students and performed by students of VU is aimed at boosting the University’s identity.

“The song communicates the values of VU and what it intends to offer to the education sector and region. The anthem also signifies growth of the university as it embraces students of from the region and diaspora,” Elvis Nimaro, Senior Marketing and Recruitment Specialist at Victoria University said.

He added that the anthem creates identity and communicates the values of the University to the market. “It signifies who we are besides our brand and logo.” He added.

Hotel Treats Customers To Basketball Fun

Hotels are devising ways in which to keep their customers happy and such initiatives include extracurricular activities like sport. While a sport like beach volleyball has been synonymous with beach or resort hotels, basketball is fast picking up with hotels that don’t have water bodies.

Hoima Municipality Wins Sixth Amasaza Cup In Bunyoro

Hoima Municipality County from Hoima district emerged champions of the 5th edition of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) Amasaza cup of Bunyoro Kingdom after a 1-0 win over Buliisa at Sir Tito Owinyi ground on Friday.

The final graced by the Omukama Rukirabasaija Agutamba Solomon Gafabusa Iguru 1, who appreciated for the people attended, came to life in the second half after a dull first that had both sides create a few chances.

CNOOC Head of Corporate Social Responsibility Zakaria Lubega termed the tournament a success but noted that they will have to add more efforts in the mobilization of fans especially at the finals.

Over 20 teams from counties and districts of the kingdom participated in the annual tournament aimed at tapping talent from the grassroots and also fostering unity among the Omukama's subjects.

A select team from the tournament will face a Buganda Masaza team at a later date in Kampala.

La Cabana Cocktails Nominated For Kampala Cocktail Week Awards
