Phaneroo To Pray For Uganda To Have Peaceful Elections

Phaneroo Ministries International is set to hold a national prayer for Uganda ahead of next week's general elections.

Uganda will be going to the polls on 14th January 2021. The intercession dubbed 'Prayer for Uganda with Apostle Grace Lubega' will take place on 8th January 2021 from 8 pm to 10 pm. It will be held virtually on all of Phaneroo's social media platforms.

The prayer is aimed at requesting God to enable Uganda to have non-violent and peaceful elections. According to Phaneroo's vision bearer, Apostle Grace Lubega, the devil is doing all it can to see Uganda fall into war during the election period but with prayers, the country will remain peaceful.

"In Uganda, we are having our elections on the 14th of January. So on the 8th of January, this coming Friday from 8 pm to 10 pm, I want all of you Ugandans living in Uganda and outside Uganda, those of you who love peace and the history of this country to join me, we are going to have a power-packed service to pray for the peace of our nation," Apostle Lubega said during Phaneroo's Sunday service over the weekend.

"This is an unction that came last minute and we have to obey God. So we have to pray for the peace of our people, you know we have lost lives of more than 70 people in the campaigning period. We don't want to see war, we have seen that the devil has tried to do so but through prayers, it will not happen. We must pray for our nation for peace," he added.

Titus Tugume, Niemoeller Fight At Speke Resort Set

On New Year’s Eve, December 31 2020, Speke Resort Munyonyo will be the place to be when Uganda's celebrated kickboxing champion Titus Tugume takes on American Robert Niemoeller in an intercontinental championship fight.

Maj Gen Katsigazi appreciated all the medals Tugume has won both internationally and nationally and said that UPDF has the confidence that the upcoming match will be a walkover for him.

He assured Tugume of all the necessary support from the UPDF leadership to ensure that the fight is a success.

On their side as hosts, Speke Resort has assured that they have put in place all the needed SOPs and adhering to the health and safety guidelines ensure a successful fight without endangering stakeholders to COVID19.

Phaneroo To Hold End Of Year Prayers Online

Phaneroo Ministries International will this time round hold its end of year prayers online due to the negative effects of Covid-19.

A few days ago, the Information Minister Judith Nabakooba revealed that the government had suspended all New Year night celebrations, including the display of fireworks, prayers and converging in trading centres as a way of controlling the spread of the pandemic.

With such directive from the government, Phaneroo's lead Preacher Apostle Grace Lubega has decided to pass his new year message to believers via online.

The prayers will be an explosive overnight of signs, miracles and wonders as Apostle Lubega ushers Ugandans into 2021.

Just like last year when he prophesied Covid-19 (video: https://youtu.be/r3MsjoG16bc), Apostle Lubega, the vision bearer of Phaneroo will this time as well make truthful revelations for 2021.

"God speaks to us every year because God loves people, because God cares for people and I believe that there are people who God speaks to about destinies of nations and generations. I have been blessed to see a lot over the years," Apostle Lubega said during last year's prophetic prayers. God reveals to redeem.

I want to tell you a few things I saw for our nation and the few things I saw outside this nation. Some I was allowed to share freely today. A few things I feel are important. When we speak about what's going to come, we do not just want you to know but we want you to pray.....I warned you about ebola and what I see this coming year, I saw a demon spirit and it was like of cough and flu. Its demonic because of the much money people lose during the process," he added.

The prayers which shall start at 10 pm on 31st December, are going to be streamed  on phaneroo.org/live, Youtube, Facebook, YO, Spirit TV and LTV. The prayers will also be aired on regional radio stations such as Radio West (Western Uganda), Favour FM (North), Spirit FM (Central), Star FM (Central), Open Gate FM (East), Voice of Teso FM (East) and City FM (East).

Phaneroo continues to shape the destinies of thousands, setting a pattern of greatness, drawing countless people into intimate relationship with the Most High God and pioneering a generation of distinctive believers who are sold out to the cause of the gospel.

Omah Lay’s Concert Was Held at Ddungu Resort Not Speke Resort

Management of Speke Resort Munyonyo has distanced itself from the unauthorized concert that happened over the weekend in Munyonyo, a suburb in Kampala city, Uganda capital.

Uganda Police Force has since established that the concert actually took place at Ddungu Resort, an entertainment centre that neighbours Sudhir Ruparelia’s Speke Resort. By Sunday evening, police said it has arrested nine people.

Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, said those arrested included Nigerian artiste Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, artiste Temilade Openyi alias Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi (Temilade's manager).

Others are Benjamin Kabura (event’s organizer), Ivan Ddungu, the manager of the place where the concert was held and Prim Kasana, the event manager, who contracted Omah Lay to sing at the unauthorized concert.

Also arrested are police officers L/AIP Fabiano Juma, No.51328 PC John Bosco Ocaba and No.67898 PC Paul Odongo. The suspects are detained at Katwe Police Station and are being charged with doing acts that are likely to cause the spread of infectious disease, which is coronavirus.

“We condemn the act of some selfish individuals, who are bent on violating the directives on CONVID-19 to make money and risks the lives of many Ugandans. We appeal to members of the public to adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines on COVID-19 and follow all the SOPs,” Onyango said.

Earlier reports had indicated that the concert had happened at Speke Resort but according to Trumpet News, businessman Sudhir who owns the five-star resort was quick to distance his hotel from the illegal concert.

Chris Ireland Takes Over As Sanyu FM General Manager

One of the former 88.2 Sanyu FM radio presenters Chris Ireland has taken over the radio station as the general manager. Ireland first worked at Sanyu FM, Uganda’s oldest FM radio station, in 1993 following the station’s formation in December that year.

Ireland now replaces Betsy Mugamba who was recently fired by the station’s owner Sudhir Ruparelia after leaked audios pinned her for leading a workers’ strike in June.

“As general manager, Ireland will spark a new wave of dominance over the airwaves with a fresh set of presenters and a dedicated team with on goal in mind - to be the market leader of Uganda's radio scene,” the station said in a statement.

“With a natural inclination to music, Chris is best suited to guide the station that brags a sound that can only be described as ‘Today’s Best Music,” the statement added.

In the old days, Ireland, using the moniker of ‘Darling DJ Chris’ pioneered the very first morning show on Sanyu FM; he now returns 26 years later with a wealth of marketing knowledge that will push the station further.

As a marketer, Ireland has worked with MTN Uganda, SABMiller, Uganda Breweries, Broadband Uganda and Madhvani Industries among other places where he rendered his talents.

While he was away from Sanyu undertaking marketing jobs with various companies, Ireland founded a band called Code 9 that kept him around the entertainment circles of Uganda.

Health & Fitness Activities Resume At Speke Resort Gym

The government of Uganda, through the Minister of Health, Jane Ruth Aceng, earlier November announced it had eased restrictions on mass gatherings, political rallies, cinemas, casinos, gyms, massage parlors, and mobile markets. This is part of the phased lifting of the COVID19 lockdown. The lifting of the restriction is in tandem with adherence to the laid out standard operating procedures (SOPs).

This move by the government was welcomed with open arms by service providers who are now reopening their businesses almost seven months since the government shut down the economy by ordering a ban on operations of non-essential services as a way of stopping the spread of COVID19. Business like gyms, saunas and massage parlors are now feeling a fresh breath of now that they can operate.

At Speke Resort and Conference Centre in Munyonyo, Ajit Singh, a manager, welcomed the move and said that they will continue to observe the SOPs and health guidelines put in place by the ministry of health as a way of protecting their customers. “Our wellness centre has officially re-opened, be sure to fit in some fitness time so you can stay sharp,” Ajit said.

“The swimming pool and gym officially opened to the public on the 14th November and we are observing the SOPs and Health guidelines. At Speke Resort, we believe that an active healthy mind is key to maintaining a positive approach to life. We want our guests to come and enjoy a range of outdoor health and fitness activities at the Resort,” Ajit added.

The Speke Resort Wellness Centre has a gym, an Olympic size swimming pool, the spa, a fitness centre, a sports centre (two glass-backed squash courts) and kids activities. The gym caters to people of all ages and fitness levels, whether you are extremely athletic or just need a little exercise. You can stay in shape and keep fit with their fitness classes, running tracks and fully equipped gym. There’s something for everybody.
