Uganda Tourism sector is exponentially growing and investors are loving it as they are continuing to inject their investment into the sector.

One such investor who understands the tourism sector and loves lavishing it by making huge industry changing investment is Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia of Speke Group of Hotels under the Ruparelia Group.

And as the year 2019 is taking off, Dr. Ruparelia has some good news for the industry – he will in the not distant future launch a new magnificent five star resort in Entebbe. The businessman early this week unveiled artists drawing of the upcoming breathtaking resort. The name of the resort is Speke Resort and Convention Centre, Entebbe.

The artist’s impression, according to journalist Muhereza Kyamutetera, shows there will be a marina, a convention centre and a 3-winged main hotel block, with up to 10 visible floors penthouse suites on the top floor.

Ruparelia Group under Speke Group of Hotels has facilities Speke Resort and Conference Centre, Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort, Kabira Country Club, Speke Hotel, Dolphin Suites, Tourist Hotel, Forest Cottages, Speke Resort Bujagali Falls and the recently expanded Speke Apartments.

According to Kyamutetera, this revelation has already excited the tourism sector with people like Amos Wekesa, founder and CEO Great Lakes Safaris and Uganda Lodges Limited, describing it as “trailblazing”

“That is a fantastic facility that they are going to put up. Entebbe has been lacking a 5-star hotel with a marina, and conferencing facilities. The development of a marina is an additional plus, because the truth is that Uganda’s waters, especially Lake Victoria have not been exploited,” Wekesa told Kyamutetera in an interview.

Jean Byamugisha, the Executive Director Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA) said the the hotel facility has come at the right time because it create job and skills transfer and offer variety to guests.

“This will grow the economy of Entebbe and boost its quest to become the second city in Uganda. We need many more 5 star establishments to favorably compete with our neighbours in Nairobi and Kigali as the MICE destination of choice in East and Central Africa,” she added.
